Most of our trip will be on I-40 through the California desert, Arizona, New Mexico, the Texas panhandle, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee. A little ways past Knoxville, TN we will swing up to the north on I-81 which will take us into Virginia. We then cut to the east on I-64 toward Richmond. We could go all the way to Richmond and then cut up I-95, but that is kind of a long way around. We may take the smaller State Route 3 and bypass I-95 altogether. Continuing east we eventually meet up with U.S. Route 301 and take the Gov. Harry Nice Memorial Bridge over the Potomac River into Maryland. From there it's about 30 minutes to the new house in La Plata.
